Floor Supervisor

The Floor Supervisor oversees the daily operations of a housekeeping services department to ensure offices, guest rooms, facilities, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Responsible for standards' establishment, staff training, schedule/resource coordination, workflow inspection, inventory maintenance and equipment supplies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in training staff and developing of Housekeeping staff for potential career advancement
  • Assists in the completion of rooms in a timely manner and assigning staff members to assist others to ensure appropriate room turn times
  • Conducts inspections of rooms for cleanliness, damage, supplies, maintenance issues, and temperature control
  • Verifies unoccupied rooms and communicates with front office to ensure accuracy of reports
  • Supervises activities of staff and area to ensure compliance with resort standards; monitors staff report in/out times
  • Monitors inventory levels for housekeeping supplies and ensures storage areas and carts are effectively prepared and stocked while ensuring combustible materials are properly stored
  • Works to keep public areas clean and free of obstructions
  • Completes and communicates maintenance work orders to Assistant Director and/or Director of Housekeeping as necessary
  • Report and investigate staff or guest behavior as necessary
  • Conducts pack member performance appraisals in a timely fashion

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years prior housekeeping experience
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or Holidays as needed

Desired Qualifications & Traits

  • Previous experience in large family resort
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Positive attitude

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stretch and twist
  • Capable of tolerating exposure to chemicals
